Invisible Connections at Construct Day and Awards 2022
Invisible Connections exhibited at CONSTRUCT Day and Awards on 30th September 2022 at Tobacco Dock, London.
Over 500 guests and 30 exhibitors from the concrete construction industry attended the event, affording plenty of opportunities to catch up with familiar faces and connect with new ones. CONSTRUCT represents circa 80% of UK concrete frame contractors and is dedicated to improving the safety and efficiency of building in situ concrete frames and associated structures.

Improving cost efficiencies, health and safety and more sustainable construction
Our team were on hand to demonstrate how our innovative telescopic connectors invisibly support beams, columns and stair landings; providing a simpler, more cost-effective and aesthetic alternative to traditional concrete connection methods. Attendees were also interested in hearing how FERBOX bespoke reinforcement continuity system satisfies design requirements, saves costly wastage and mitigates health and safety risks.

Introducing our new generation of telescopic connectors
This year, Invisible Connections showcased our new generation of telescopic connectors: the TSS and RVK 60P. Our new ‘slim design’ 60P connectors with HDPE outers can enable thinner landings and stair thicknesses, which means less concrete and less CO2. What’s more, we’re passing on cost savings for alternative raw materials and leaner manufacture, which means a better deal for the environment as well as for our customers.

Celebrating the very best in structural concrete
Congratulations to all the entrants for the CONSTRUCT Awards, which recognise excellence, capability, and inventiveness in the concrete structures sector.
We’re proud many of the projects shortlisted incorporated Invisible Connections’ products. At Blossom Street and Marylebone Square, FERBOX made-to-measure reinforcement continuity strip was used to maintain structural continuity across construction joints in the RC frame. At Whiteleys shopping centre, RVK stair landing connectors and REDiBOX provide an invisible means of support for the precast stair landings off core walls.
The winners were:
- Project of the Year (over £2.5m): High Street Kensington, John F Hunt
- Project of the Year (under £2.5m): Emmanuel College, Oliver Connell and Son
- Health & Safety Award: Oliver Connell WAY Leadership Project, Oliver Connell and Son
- Unsung Hero: Gareth Bannister, Anderson Group
- Young Achiever: Owen Mills, Anderson Group
