Invisible Connections – Winners at Health & Safety Awards
We were delighted to win the ‘Safer operations on site’ category at the prestigious Mineral Products Association & British Precast Health & Safety Awards 2021.
Promoting ‘Safer by sharing, safer by action,’ the event celebrates achievements in the mineral products and precast industries, sharing innovations that are transforming health and safety.
This year, eight new awards were launched to recognise H&S advances throughout production, distribution and construction. The awards aim to deploy best learnings across the industry so that members can Lead, Apply, Adapt and Action.
The event is underpinned by ‘Vision Zero – Safe & Well Every Day,’ the foundation for the MPA’s new health & safety plan. Vision Zero emphasises mitigating those risks that account for 94% of industry fatalities, ‘the Fatal Six.’
Our telescopic connectors greatly simplify the installation of precast stairs and landings, and provide an innovative alternative to post fixed steel support angles (RSAs).
Alongside other H&S advantages, telescopic connectors make a positive impact on three of the Fatal Six: the risk of falling from height, the risk of being struck and the risk of exposure to respirable crystalline silica (RCS). In a nutshell, telescopic connectors contribute significantly to better site health and safety.
Congratulations to our fellow category winners and finalists, as well as those who received nominations and certificates of merit, or were highly commended. Our thanks go to the MPA and British Precast for arranging and hosting the event, and to the great many contributors. We were left in no doubt as to the ongoing commitment to Health and Safety innovation in this important construction sector.
