In response to The Guardian’s ‘Concrete Week’ earlier this year, the PRECAST2019 ‘Equipping the Industry’ programme leads with assessing the carbon impact of precast concrete, the push for net zero emissions and the development of new cement types to reduce carbon.
In addition, key industry topics include how the industry can capitalise on the government’s presumption in favour of offsite construction, using non-combustible materials to meet the Hackitt report recommendations, moisture management, digital workflow, managing skills gaps and Brexit. PRECAST2019 is hosted by British Precast, the trade association of precast concrete manufacturers. With over 70 trade stands and more than 450 delegates expected to attend, the show offers an ideal forum to network with others in the industry.
In line with this year’s focus on environmental sustainability in the precast concrete industry, we’ll be showcasing our next generation REDiBOX permanent recess formers. REDiBOX is now manufactured from durable, high density and environmentally recyclable polyethylene (HDPE) and is sized to provide generous installation tolerance for quick and easy installation.
REDiBOX is a purpose-designed ‘left-in’ component for easy forming of recesses in concrete walls (precast or in situ), which is configured to receive the sliding inner sections of TSS and RVK Telescopic Connectors cast into floors or landings. After cementitious grout fill, the connection is ‘unseen’ and fire resistant.
Launched this year, the new REDiBOX PRF-PIN (pinned version), enables robustness requirements to be met where the landing can only be fixed on two ends. REDiBOX PRF- STD (standard version) may be used where a three-sided layout of connectors tie the landing in position.
