New products and features offer even more programme efficiencies

Precast stair landing installation made even quicker and easier!

The Invisible Connections product range continuously evolves to meet our customers’ construction challenges, through our practice of continuous improvement. This ongoing process helps us to identify and develop new product features and functionality to benefit customers.

Our new products and product enhancements are designed to make installation of precast stair landings even quicker, easier and cost-effective – delivering further programme efficiencies for concrete frame contractors.

No need to shim

We’re delighted to introduce 2 new variants to our RVK and TSS Stair Landing Connector range, the RVK 101 JCK and TSS 101 JCK. Our new ‘JCK’ telescopic connectors enable frame contractors to level precast stair landings without shimming. Both options are designed to work in combination with the new REDiBOX PRF JCK, which houses an M16 setscrew.

During installation, the setscrew acts as a jack: as the jacking screw is turned, the landing can be raised or lowered to the required height/level.
New TSS 101 JCK and RVK 101 JCK: As the rachet tool (not supplied) is turned, the landing is raised or lowered to the required height/level.

The RVK 101 JCK and TSS 101 JCK provide a temporary capacity up to 55kN, increasing to application capacity (according to slab thickness) once grouted. Both ‘JCK’ variants are suitable where landings can be supported off three walls. By eliminating shimming, we envisage the RVK 101 JCK and TSS 101 JCK will make installation of precast stair landings even quicker and easier.

New hopper insert for RVK 60P STD connectors

Our ‘slim design’ RVK 60P STD and TSS 60P STD stair landing connectors with HDPE outers can enable thinner landings and stair thicknesses, which means less concrete and less CO2.

On some projects, a combination of 60P connectors and other standard (STD) telescopic connectors is beneficial. The new reusable hopper insert for RVK 60P STD connectors enables different capacity stair landing connectors to be cast into landings at the same depth. When the landing is installed, frame contractors can be confident that equal tolerance is assured, and all telescopic connectors are correctly positioned – to align with REDiBOX recess formers cast into core walls at the same level.

New wire loop for TSS connectors makes for easier deployment
We’ve redesigned the wire loop in TSS connectors. The new wire loop means the inner tubes can be easily ejected on site from above or below the landing, providing site operatives greater flexibility and facilitating faster installation. TSS Stair Landing Connectors leave no blemish on the landing surface and are ideal for uncovered fair-faced concrete finishes.

Owing to the greater clearance between the inner and outer tubes, the TSS 102 Acoustic Connector will retain a straight cord. TSS 102 STD connectors incorporate a sound deadening rubber composite to minimise step-sound vibration from the stairwell into adjacent rooms and are ideal for high specification applications. Our 20 Farringdon Street case study provides more detail as to how these premium connectors were used in this high-end office development.

Chosen for their sound deadening properties, TSS 102 Acoustic connectors support fair-faced concrete stair landings at 20 Farringdon Street.

Black steel finish as standard offers cost saving opportunities

All Invisible Connections products are designed to meet industry demands for improved safety and construction efficiency, whilst ensuring cost competitiveness.  High material, energy and labour costs pose significant challenges for the construction industry. Consequently, Invisible Connections has been looking at ways to make efficiencies – and pass these savings onto customers.

One way we can achieve this is by supplying our range of TSS telescopic connectors in a default black steel finish. Hot dip galvanised (HDG) will continue to be available – and we’ll ask customers to confirm their preference at time of order placement. Find out more here.
