TSS Stair Landing Connectors Specification

The Invisible Connections range of telescopic connectors was developed to solve the problem of unsightly support systems for precast slabs and beams, such as traditional bracketry and/ or corbel support details.

They consist of a cast-in, structural steel hollow section with inner structural steel hollow section deployed during installation. The TSS unit is identical to the RVK unit except for the TSS unit has no opening to the upper surface. The position of the inner tube is instead adjusted by two strings with different colour. The units have a control line marking the correct position of the sliding tube, and a hole for a locking bolt. The range of TSS connectors are primarily intended for precast stairs and landings, with two standard capacities; 40 kN and 100 kN. They are also useful for conditions other than stairs.

Options

  • TSS 81-30: Pinned connector enables robustness requirements to be achieved where only two walls are available for connection.
  • TSS 102: Sound deadening rubber composite minimizes step-sound vibration from stairwell into adjacent rooms.

TSS 102 (acoustic version):

  • Steel (grade S355, minimum).

Concrete strength class

  • C35/45, minimum.

Reaction to fire

  • Class A1, according to EN 13501-1.
