As specialists in precast concrete car park construction, we use telescopic connectors for many key applications. Particularly, the BSF system helps us to construct a ‘modern’ frame without cumbersome corbel supports and enables rapid assembly on site. We have completed installation of our stairs in both cores, using TSS connectors. Everything went smoothly, quickly and easily. The new anti-uplift brackets have done the job perfectly.

We hadn’t typically gone the ‘specials’ route before. But, by investing a little upfront time to schedule our FERBOX requirements, we gained a smooth supply and installation process – without wastage or complication – and exceeded the programme demands of our slip-formed cores.

In a slipform core, having several couplers in a box actually makes it easier and quicker to find. Just take off the lid and the couplers are exposed without any damage.

There’s no drilling, which of course involves manpower. And every drilling detail comes with resin, which is not cheap. The safety hazard of silica dust is an important consideration. Eliminating all of this gives the contractor a great advantage.

We were thinking how we could give the architect what they wanted: a finished landing with a shadow gap all around. We used the telescopic connection system from Invisible Connections, which made it a lot easier, both to install the wall recesses and to install the stairs.

I’ve used your services on my last three projects (telescopic connectors for precast and continuity strip for in-situ). You’re very good at accommodating site demands for lead-in times and value competitiveness. Very happy with the service I’ve received on all three projects and hope this relationship will continue on future developments.

An issue with slipform is dragging. We always try to find solutions for fixing the casting elements robustly. Singular couplers are flimsy (just tied individually to the wall rebar), but coupler boxes are more robust and can resist that drag. COUPLER CADDi is a really good solution for slipform systems.

Having FERBOX pre-sized is great from a quality and time-saving perspective, because if you use a regular continuity box, you end up having short lap lengths, depending on where you cut it. It goes back to your time spent fixing, looking for things, cutting them and having to retape corners and ends to stop concrete going in.

Telescopic connectors provide us numerous advantages for precast stair installation. Apart from improved time and efficiency, the health and safety gains over traditional support methods are a key driver to satisfy our own needs, as well as those of our clients.
